White Pencil 2017

White Pencil is a public collection that supports people with severe visual impairment. The collection is launched from June 1 until the end of 2017. The main collection days were Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd os September 2017. On these days, teams of volunteers were in the streets of cities and people had the opportunity to contribute directly to the collection box.

Our school had 9 teams in the Martin district and together collected up to 1500 €, which is even more than in the past years. We are very happy that we can contribute at least a little to the good thing and help the people who are in need of the help and we are honoured to continue this tradition.

You can also donate online at www.bielapastelka.sk, to the account of the collection number SK23 1111 0000 0014 3025 8006 or by sending an SMS message with arbitrary text priced 2 € to the number 820 with all telecommunications services providers.

White Pencil is a symbol of the world of the blind, a symbol of invisible lines. It helps to find solutions in often difficult life situations, it draws a white line on the dark path. White Pencil means light when it's dark all around.

White Pencil is a public collection, which is now for 15 years organised by the Union of Blind and Visually Impaired Slovakia. Its goal is to raise funds for providing quality services for visually impaired people, such as learning to walk with a white stick, reading and writing Braille, computer skills, and so on. The goal is also to get funding for projects for blind and purblind people such as handiwork clubs, cooking classes, dance classes, rehabilitation stays, and more.

We would like to thank you for any support of the public collection on behalf of the Union of Blind and Visually Impaired Slovakia.
